JOSEPH RODGERS & SONS : NORFOLK : SHEFFIELD : NEAR WEDGE: RE-GRIND
This is a very old vintage straight razor from Joseph Rodgers & Sons, Cutlers to their majesties, Norfolk N°6, Sheffield, in gorgeous condition from around 1870's.
The blade has professionally been restored with a total re-grind preserving the original grind and removing all pitting and blemishes. Has a nice beautiful shine. There are just a few remaining residual shallow pits left around the engraving part which are barely visible but would have totally comprimised the engraving, which is still half visible, by trying to remove them all.
The scales are Blue Paua, tapered with a faux Ivory Wedge.
The blade is extremely clean with no rust, cracks, chips or disturbing stains.
Near Wedge : Half Round
Total weight: 2.0 oz
Total cutting edge: 2.50 inches
On the front tang it says: Joseph Rodgers & Sons - Cutlers to their majesties - N°6 Norfolk - Sheffield. Engraving is half visible.
A very old vintage example of a Joseph Rodgers & Sons in excellent condition.
