JAMES BARLOW & SONS : SHEFFIELD : 7/8 : NEAR WEDGE - REGRIND
This is a gorgeous looking Sheffield vintage collectors razor from James Barlow & Sons Manufacturers sheffield - corporate mark ECHO from the early 1800's in superb condition.
The custom scales are Blue Paua ALVS w/tapered faux Ivory Near Wedge. This is 100% real Paua shell on a blue backing and topcoat durable acrylic layer.
The razor has professionally been restored with a total re-grind preserving the original grind and removing nearly all pitting and blemishes. There are only a few remaining barely noticeable residual surface pits around the tang engraving as it would have meant losing the engraving.
Blade sits nicely and snug between the scales.
The blade measures 7/8 - Near Wedge - smiling edge and spine.
Total weight: 2.2 oz
Total cutting edge: 2.80"
On the front shank it says: James Barlow Sons Manufacturers sheffield - corporate mark ECHO
Extremely nice and beautiful example of a James Barlow & Sons.
