FREDERICK REYNOLDS : SHEFFIELD : 13/16 : NEAR WEDGE: RE-GRIND
This is a vintage Frederick Reynolds Sheffield steel razor. fully restored, in top notch condition, which has been customized with Faux Tortoise scales and tapered with a faux ivory wedge.
The razor was professionally restored with a re-grind hereby removing all pitting and blemishes and preserving the original near wedge grind. I would say it looks stellar, all blemishes are gone and the razor looks amazing for its age. Picture don't even do it even justice.
Razor is extremely clean with no rust, cracks, chips or disturbing stains.
Nickel Silver and brass washers and Stainless Steel pins.
Blade centers nicely and sits snug between the scales.
Grind: Near wedge, subtle smiling edge/spine.
Barber's notch.

FREDERICK REYNOLDS In business since early 1840's
Frederick Reynolds was a razor manufacturer born in Derbishire. He was working at Sims Croft in the early 1840's. The address changed to School Croft by 1849. Around 1860 Mr Reynolds employed 15 men and moved the operation to Gell Street. Trading continued well in into the 1870's located at Monmouth Lane. Mr Frederick Reynolds died on October 22nd 1877 at the age of 63.
